cold soondubu

Ingredients (1 serving)

  • 1 portion of silken tofu

  • 1 bowl of rice

  • 1 tsp soy sauce

  • 1 tsp white vinegar

  • 1 tsp sesame seeds

  • 1 tsp gochugaru

  • 1 tsp minced garlic

  • 1 tsp sugar

  • 2-3 Tbsp hot canola oil

garnish

  • chopped scallion

  • crispy fried egg

  • drizzle of sesame oil

  1. mix 1 tsp each of of soy sauce, white vinegar, sesame seeds, gochugaru, minced garlic, and sugar in a ceramic or heat safe bowl

  2. heat the oil in a pan, then pour over the spice mix. let the oil bubble- now you’ve made your own chili crisp!

  3. roughly break apart the cold tofu into large chunks, and add to a bowl of rice

  4. garnish with a crispy fried egg*, chopped scallions, and drizzle with sesame oil. enjoy!

*to fry your egg crispy, heat your pan on medium-high heat first, add oil, and crack in the egg while the pan and oil is hot! the crispiness works the best on a stainless steel pan.
