Okonomiyaki

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cabbage, finely chopped

  • 1 egg

  • 1/2 cup of grated nagaimo (or water)

  • 1/2 cup korean pancake mix (뢀침가루) or flour

  • water as needed (if batter is too thick)

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • Pinch salt

  • Shrimp, porkbelly, bacon, etc. for toppings

  • Bonito flakes

  1. Chop up cabbage finely in food processor or by hand.

  2. Mix flour, baking soda, salt, nagaimo, and water

  3. Add the cabbage and mix

  4. On a heated oil pan, add a ladle full of batter and heat until bottoms are fried and golden

  5. Flip, cook another 3-4 minutes

  6. Add mayo, okonomi sauce (2 tbs ketchup , 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce, 1tbsp oyster sauce, 1 tbsp sugar), and bonito flakes Enjoy :)

Add the toppings you like. I added shrimp and thin sliced pork belly.

Flip, cook another 3-4 minutes

Add mayo, okonomi sauce (2 tbs ketchup , 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce, 1tbsp oyster sauce, 1 tbsp sugar), and seeweed nori if you have it.
