Gyeran Mari (Korean Egg Omelette)
Gyeran mari, also known as a Korean rolled omelet, is a delicious and visually stunning dish that's perfect for breakfast or as a side dish. This Korean dish is made by rolling together seasoned eggs with vegetables to create a colorful spiral. Gyeran mari is a popular dish in Korean cuisine, and can be served as a snack, part of a traditional Korean meal, or even as a filling for a sandwich or wrap.
In this recipe post, I’ll walk you through the steps to make gyeran mari at home, using simple ingredients that you likely already have in your kitchen! Whether you're a fan of Korean cuisine or just looking to try something new, this dish is sure to impress.
In a bowl, crack the eggs, add the salt, and whisk everything together
On a cutting board, mince the onion and carrot and add them to the egg mixture
Mix everything together well and pour half of the mixture into a generously oiled nonstick pan (so the whole pan is covered) on medium heat
Once you can see that the bottom of the egg is cooked in the pan, lift the corner and fold it over rolling it (carefully!) with a spatula
Push the folded egg to the other side of the pan and pour in the other half of the egg mixture keeping the temperature on medium heat
Wait for the bottom to be cooked and fold it over again (make sure to do everything slowly and patiently so everything is cooked through!)
Remove the rolled egg from the pan, slice it into pieces, and enjoy!
